Steven J. Olsen
Steven J. Olsen spent twenty-six years working as both a teacher and a middle school principal in the Juab School District in Nephi, Utah. As both a teacher and principal, Steve served as the District School Improvement Coordinator and the District Instructional Process Trainer. In 1991, Steve was awarded the Utah Middle School "Teacher of the Year" for his exceptional work in the classroom.
In addition to his classroom experience, Steve has extensive experience in educational training and consulting. He worked as a consultant and trainer for the Institute of Quality Learning for twelve years and trained educators and administrators in Utah, Minnesota, Michigan, Virginia, Washington, Massachusetts, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Idaho, Arizona, Iowa, British Columbia, Texas, Nevada, Wyoming, North Dakota, Louisiana, California, and Wisconsin. He began working as a guidebook author and trainer for the School Improvement Network in 1990. Over the past sixteen years, Steve has been involved in the creation of over eighty of the Network's educational issues. He currently trains schools and districts across the United States on the Teaching and Learning Framework—a research-based model proven to increase student learning and achievement.
Steve graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brigham Young University with a Masters in Educational Administration.
